www.e-bility.com. E-Bility's website aims to provide easy access and links to a range of resources, services and products of interest to people with disability, their families and carers.

Media Access Australia

www.mediaaccess.org.au. This website provides information on access to media using technology. It covers a wide range of practical information on access issues involving TV, DVDs, cinema, the arts, new media and education; and access technologies including captioning (primarily used by people who are Deaf and hearing impaired) and audio description (primarily used by people who are blind and vision impaired).

Vision Australia

www.visionaustralia.org/info.aspx?. The Royal Blind Society has merged with Vision Australia. The website is a great source of information about all things to do with blindness and low vision.

Ability Technology

www.abilitytech.com.au. Ability Technology details some of the computer hardware technology currently available to make computers more usable for people with a disability.

Microsoft accessibility features

www.microsoft.com/enable/. This site explains all the accessibility features offered by Microsoft. Readers can look under the categories of vision, hearing, mobility or cognitive impairment. Examples of accessibility features are screen magnifiers and speech recognition functions.

ASCCA's Barrier-free website provides advice to computer clubs about communicating with seniors with disabilities, provides advice on useful hardware and software and organisations to contact for specific advice.

www.ancestry.com.au Ancestry.com is a searchable data base, with websites for many countries. Once you find a name, you can subscribe and obtain an image or transcription of many original records - census, civil registrations, shipping records etc.
