On each afternoon, conference registrants had two opportunities to select one of three 40 minute sessions, run concurrently at 1.30pm and 2.15pm.

The sessions took the form of a presentation with the opportunity to ask questions.

PC Rescue

We usually hear how younger generations are computer savvy. Are they really, or are they just playing with flashy toys? Paul looks at who is using computers wisely and who is just playing.

10 years younger in 10 minutes

This session will talk about using Photoshop Elements on portraits to remove blemishes, reduce lines and enhance the appearance of the sitter.

Creative Emailing and Watermark Stationery

This session will show you how and where to download email stationery and use it. Create Watermark stationery in M. S Word.

Shared Computing with Desktop Virtualisation

Today's PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications only use a small fraction of the computer's capacity. NComputing's virtualization software and hardware tap this unused capacity so that it can be simultaneously shared by many users. Each user connects to the shared PC through a small NComputing access device. The access device has no CPU, memory, or moving parts-so it is rugged, durable, and easy to deploy and maintain.

Coles Shopping Online

This workshop will demonstrate how easy and convenient on line shop is: Compare shopping on line with traditional shopping; look at who uses on line shopping; show the benefits with shopping on line. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Network Security and Malware - a live demonstration

See how cybercrime works by watching a (safe) live demo of a PC becoming infected. Know your enemy and you will better be able to defend your own PC and your club's network.

The Future of Access

This year has delivered helpful products to people with disabilities using computers and the Internet. This presentation looks to see what's coming up in 2010 and beyond.

Toward an Optimum Training Machine

Tamworth Computer Club for Seniors is running individual PC training machines with dual operating systems, Microsoft's free SteadyState program for shared user protection, and dual monitors and mice. Experience to date indicates that the machines offer significant training advantages for both learner and tutor, allow easier management of installed programs and screen appearance from session to session, and provide very effective isolation from virus and malware infection.
