National E-Security Awareness Week
The Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, the Hon Helen Coonan
launched the National E-Security Awareness Week and StaySmartOnline, a new government website
designed to inform Australian online users about e-security basics.
The Awareness Week was held to heighten awareness of online security issues and inform home
users and small businesses of the simple steps they can take to Stay Smart Online. Industry and
community organisations worked together to develop the week.
ASCCA held two events to mark the week. Margaret Tucker, ASCCA Club Development Officer and
Peter Stanhope, ASCCA Training Officer, ran most successful events at Bega and Bulli in New South
Wales.
