Club history and features

Computer Pals for Seniors – Manly has been operating since 1997. It is a non-profit organization run by its members for its members. Based within the Manly Senior Citizens Centre, we have our own air conditioned room all set up with five computers that run Windows XP & Windows Vista.

Membership: Persons over the age of 55, retired or semi-retired are eligible to join. Our membership is currently approx. 130 and we have 20 Tutors. New members are welcome

Tuition: We offer each of our members one hour's tuition per week and operate 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Because tuition is carried out on an individual basis, students can start at any level without any pressure to perform and programs can be tailored for their specific needs.

Cost:

Initial Joining Fee.......................... $30

plus either

3 months' membership.................. $25

6 months' membership................. $50

12 months' membership............... $90

Meetings: General meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 2.00 p.m. in the Manly Library Meeting Room with Tutors providing demonstrations of features of the programs and equipment that are available to our members. The splendid facilities available in the meeting room allow for the hook-up of a computer to an overhead projector enabling good viewing of the demonstrations. Afternoon tea is provided and visitors are welcome.

Newsletter: The Club produces a monthly newsletter – The Manly Mouse – posted to all members to keep them informed about Club news and planned activities.
