Club history and features
Our organization like many others around the country & even overseas works as follows
- Level 1: For those people who have never used a computer or are not even sure that they want to!
held approx. twice a year (this level cannot be successfully held in the Library)
- Level 2: Basic computing in 2 parts A & B on a one-to one basis when,
A./ members are guided by their mentor using the set handbook & exercises on how to use the
mouse & the keyboard (using pick & peck)
B/ members are shown basic formatting plus creating letters, flyers, tables etc. again as set out
in the handbook.
We are looking for mentors for this level, a handbook & CD with exercises is loaned to the
mentors & it is very rewarding
- Level 3: Held a few weeks after the completion of level 2, this consists of 3 parts; namely:
PC health & basic greeting cards, this level is to be conducted in
workshops at the Griffith PCYC
- Level 4: This one is called Advanced & the Net, unlike the first 3 levels there is not a set course to
follow & should be conducted in workshops held at the Griffith PCYC.
You choose
what you want help with and
when you want it provided a mentor is available & we have the minimum numbers (currently 4) for a
workshop.
