Club history and features

The Club was formed in August 2001 under ASCCA guidelines, with 43 members, to assist local seniors to learn about computers in a relaxed and friendly environment at minimal cost. Membership as of October 2005 is 221.

Club volunteer trainers have developed senior specific training courses in 12 computer related subjects. Courses vary from 3 to 8 sessions, each of 2.5 hour duration, each session being conducted on a predetermined weekday morning or afternoon. Subjects covered are: Introduction, Word processing, Internet, Email, Spreadsheets, Desktop publishing, Powerpoint, Digital photography, Genealogy, CD Burning, Greeting cards, Scrapbooking.

The Club holds a general meeting commencing at 1.30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, excepting for January. Membership of the Club is extended to all eligible seniors residing in the Macarthur region.
