Byron Shire Seniors Computing Club

Only formed on 28th March 2003, the club now has over 60 financial members. Most members already have their own e-mail address. A priority in training is to get e-mail for the other members, since communication with members re training workshops and regular newsletters is to be done via e-mail.

The club currently uses the training room at Community Technology Centre@ Mullumbimby This has 11 networked computers with data projector and fast internet access, scanners, printers and CD burners.

Workshops are usually 1½ hours each. They consist of specific focus tutorials eg "How to Save files" and Open Workshops in which members can work on their own tasks with assistance from other members. At this stage, training is being done in group sessions, but as more members develop confidence in what they know, the club hopes to have one-on-one training as a viable option.
