HISTORY OF CLUB:

The Club was set up under the auspices of the Crows Nest Centre for Seniors (50+) and people with disabilities to learn how to use a computer in a social environment. It was initiated with an inaugural meeting of interested volunteers in August 2003 and formally established with a Constitution in 2004. The Club is managed by a Committee elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting held each October.

The first classes commenced in February 2004, consisting of a course of twelve weeks starting with the basics and progressing to the Internet, Email and word processing. As a result of members comments, the format was changed to "terms" of four weeks, each with four sessions of 1.5 hours covering one topinc only (basics, Email, Internet etc.).

Currently courses are offered to members in this format covering Basics, Files & Disk Management, Email, The Internet, Word, Excel, Genealogy & Family History and Digital Photography.

Monthly Member Meetings with a topic of interest are held on a bi-monthly basis with a Newsletter also published and circulated to members to keep them informed of upcoming events and the Club's operations and plans.
